“When you relinquish the tools you take for granted ... you have to stretch and find new tools to suit the new situation. Sometimes it's scary, sometimes it's awkward, often it's funny, nearly always it's a great investment.”
While studying fashion at New York's Parsons School of Design, Jill Davis became curious about other art forms, and the first time she saw molten glass, her search was over. "Glass is the most challenging and rewarding material," she explains. "You can't bully it - you are perpetually persuading the glass into shape. Even master glassblowers cannot always get the glass to do what they want. It's this feisty streak that keeps me enchanted." Jill's solar-powered studio is based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Perfect Hostess Gift
These beautifully crafted art pieces are perfect for display in any room of the house. In fact, when I was thanked for the gift, I had to explain that it included a spout because the hostess had placed the glass globe on the table, thinking it was a decorative vase! Purchased as a gift, shipped to them. They had it sitting on their table. Due to an issue with the included message, they had no idea who the gift was from. Definitely not our names. Needs to be worked on from your end. Will continue to order from Uncommon Goods as needed.

Do these seal "airtight"?

According to the designer, the degree of “airtightness” depends on whether users reapply the small rubber cap that comes on the tip of the spout. Without the cap in place, air may travel through the spout. With the cap in place the seal should be airtight, but it should be noted that these pourers are meant for applications in which the oil is in frequent use, not for long term storage.
