Philippines-based artist Loly Gomez left rice farming behind in 1972 to open a shop, selling pieces made from recycled glass. When her work caught the eye of Chicago designer and entrepreneur Carmi Plaut, an international partnership was born. The pair have been designing together for more than 25 years, with Loly also in charge of manufacturing in the Philippines and Carmi handling marketing from Chicago. "The collaboration is so natural and so wonderful," says Loly. "Like family."

For the price, I expected more

This is really beautiful but it is much smaller than I expected and it was also packaged very poorly. This arrived in a cardboard box with one piece of kraft wrap taped around it. I give credits to the artists for designing such a beautiful piece, but if they cared more about their customer base, they would put more care into the packaging. For what they are charging, they can definitely do more to be more thoughtful about the safe keeping of their product.

Sunflower is NOT the birth flower for May.

I gave this to a friend as a remembrance of her mother who passed away. Her mom's birthday was in May. I was completely embarrassed when she told me it was beautiful but it's not the birth flower for May. I have since seen another review saying the same thing. How can you keep selling this knowing it's incorrect?

Very well made!

The flowers are delicate and beautiful! They come very well protected in there shipping container. The only thing that kept me from 5 stars is the wood base is to large. It takes away from the beauty of the flower.

Wonderful gift for birthdays

Fresh flowers are always great gifts for birthdays but they don't last. The wildflower bouquets are beautiful and each person that received one loved it! One especially appreciated the fact that they are made from recycled items. They are a perfect size and are lovely and they last.

This was a beautiful gift!

The January flower was so beautiful in person and taller than I expected. It looked great on their credenza. The only thing that was a little odd and we didn't quite know what to do is that some of the greenery stalks were twisted in the flowers. Given how delicate the flowers are, we weren't sure if we should / could untangle them. Besides that, it's beautiful!

Hi! This comes with a tag that says the month and has a brief artist profile. The box does say the month and type of flower.
