Growing up in a military family, Catherine Murphy spent her childhood discovering natural beauty around the world. But whenever she creates a new piece, she imagines it living in her favorite place: "a fabulous garden," she says, adding that she's "amazed and inspired by life in the garden." Her nature-themed copper sculptures are made to enhance green spaces. It's the merging of her two loves that "feeds my soul and keeps me motivated," she says. If she ever gets stuck, she heads out into the nature around her North Carolina home. "My go-to spot is a bench by the river," she says. "Living in the mountains and working beside a river make for a wealth of inspiration."

Cool but poorly packages
Just as cute in person as it is online. Ours arrived bent and distorted due to extremely poor packaging. Rain gauge is made of plastic, surprised it survived shipping.

Beautifully crafted
I love the way this looks and works, however, the plastic gauge cracked and I am not able to replace it. Not sure if that is a possibility? Would be happy to pay for it as it is the function piece.

I purchased one for a gift and then had to get one for me!
I fell in love with this rain gauge the minute I saw it in a friends garden on Facebook. I asked her where she purchased it and then I discovered Uncommon Goods. This was a Mother's Day gift for my mother. She loves it! We set it up right away in her garden and it's perfect! As a praying-mantisphile, this piece has it down. Proportions are perfect, craftsmanship is exquisite and we all love it. Well done!

I love him!
It's cute and it works for its intended use. Wish they'd make a replaceable glass .. just in case. I read with other shoppers that has been an issue.

What is the diameter of the tian guage?

Thank you for the great question! For the Praying Mantis Rain Guage, the top of it is 1 ¾ inches and it narrows towards the bottom to about 1 ¼. It is 8 in. long
